| Four holiday apartments with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the blue Mediterranean in a pretty white village of the Axarquia region of Andalucia. each apartment is rented independently and is simply but comfortably furnished with a rustic and spacious decoration. During the day the apartments are bathed with clear light typical of these Mediterranean villages and by night from the terraces you can see the lights of the towns on the coast and the fishing boats coming in from their day’s work at sea. A lovely visit in the early morning is to the fishing ports of Nerja, Torrox or Velez where you can join in the hustle and bustle of a lively market and buy fresh fish at great prices. Frigiliana is 330m above sea level and 7km from the sea. The old centre of the town is of Moorish origin and is the best conserved in the province of Malaga, and it’s winding streets, hidden corners and small squares give it a special charm all of it’s own. from the terraces and balconies of the houses you can admire the green hills and blue sea beyond. Walking through the old Moorish quarter a ceramic freeze tells the story of Frigiliana, as you visit the variety of local craft shops of all kinds installed in the streets. There is a co-operative in the town which has recovered the old traditions of Arabic sewing and embroidery handed down over the generations. The town is 60km from Malaga airport. |
